Directx is made up by Microsoft Co. It is mulch-programming software usually use on movies,videos, and Games .Actually it is necessary for games because many heavy games can not play very well without this.
Different Direct x are used in different windows ( XP , 7 & Vista ) it means that in windows xp used a different direct x version required and in Windows 7 is also different direct x and so on.
Direct x 10 is used for in Windows 7 and Direct x 10.1 is also used in Windows 7.Direct x 9.0c is also is used for Windows XP is also used Windows Vista. Directx11.1 is used in Windows 8 .
But Direct x 9.0c is also used in three windows effectively and i am not installing many times Direct x 10 and Direct x 11 is necessary for Windows 7 and Windows 8 respectively.
